"What do you lose by holding back from the Lord?"

Answer: Personal growth

"If you are on the right path it's always up hill."

Moon Dough

I highly recommend moon dough over play dough! Caterer loves it and I feel like the mess is so much easier to clean up! And honestly-that is a major goal in my life.

Firsts and a Carterism

Last Saturday, just after Nate got home from the priesthood session of general conference, he was telling me about the different talks when Avy took about 5 steps to get from the ottoman to Nate- on her own. It is officially her first steps. Although she has yet to repeat it. :-)

That Sunday she climbed up to the top of the ottoman and hasn't stopped climbing since then.

And today, she has finally cut her first tooth! We've been watching and waiting, but I still missed all the signs for it- drooling, clinging, a very sad diaper rash, and lots of crying!  Looks like we're in for it when it comes to teething.

And handsome Carter clarified to Nate today that Avenly was not daddy's girl, she was mommy's girl-"because she came from mommy's tummy."

Party at the NickleCade!

We celebrated Uncle Jeffrey's birthday today at the nickle-cade. We didn't get pictures of Jeffrey but I did get one of Carter with Max, who looks a lot like Jeffrey. :-) (bottom right)

The picture on the left is Carter's awesome outfit he carefully picked out today. Turns out his cousin Colin, who lives in Alaska, also thought he should where a tie today. Is that how we honor Uncle Jeffrey?

And top right is a picture of Carter with Noah playing air hockey...sort of.

It was a pretty fun night and a very good reason to have a party.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE JEFFREY!

Game On!

I came home from work on Monday night and found this sign as I walked in the front door: "This is your weapon, game on." I didn't even have a chance to put my bags down before Carter, from the top of the stairs, said "Reach for the stars! " and shot me with a nerf dart. My little family then had a ton of fun playing a few rounds of hide and seek with nerf guns. It was a blast! It may have been 11pm before the kids got to bed, but oh well!

Pig Tails

Oh man, I thought her pony tail was cute, but look at these pig tails-super cute! I should have done her hair this way for Easter, their like little bunny ears!

Easter

Here are pictures of our cute kids on Easter morning.

In Sunday school today our bishop taught the lesson and posed the question: what would it mean, what would be different in your life, if you knew the resurrection and the atonement were real?

Silly question, I thought. I already believe those things to be real. But, there is a difference to "believing" and "believing in." And that was his point. Do I simply believe in Christ, or do I believe Christ?

I believe Him. I kniw his promises will be kept. That knowledge should have a powerful influence on how I act and how I respond to the number of challenges I face daily. And because this is so personal to me, I'll just leave it at that.
