Bad luck cars

Soooo- this is our rental car while our van is in the shop getting a "new" transmission for the 2nd time in 6 months. Yeah, that van has been a little bit of a problem. (We are so thankful for Carlie's insistence that we get an extended warranty!)

But I think bad luck with cars seems to follow us because the first night we had the rental the "O" fell off the back of our car. Now we are driving around in a D DGE.

Sundays...

...are for spending time with family. Usually we are with extended family on Sundays, today we got to stay home. It has been so long since we could just sit down and watch a movie together! It is relaxing!!!

January 5, 2013 Tomorrow brings the first of 9am church. This means Carter's Sunday baths are now Saturday night showers. Showers are a big deal.

A New Me

January 4,2012 Did you notice the change in my blog's introduction about me?  

It used to say this:

...VERY BUSY!

Now, thanks to the completion of this...

(We completed raising funds for the playground just a week before Avenly was born.
The playground was installed near the end of July 2012. Such a beautiful sight!) 

The description of me has been shortened significantly!!!! and it makes me soo happy!  I have been working so hard to narrow the roles in my life down to wife, mother, and part-time therapist.  For now, this will do. But I hope to some day eliminate the therapist role. I want to focus more fully on raising my children and strengthening my family.

Carter got awesome fireman legos from his Grandma and Grandpa High, Nate and I built it last night but Carter has been having a blast playing with them all day! 

Milestone

January 2, 2013 Yesterday Avenly learned to pull herself up to standing! She also did some "real" crawling, instead of the army crawl she's been doing since Thanksgiving. As I type this tho, she is crying because she can't get out from under our nightstand. One thing at a time I guess!

New Year's Goal

January 1, 2013 Lately I've been thinking about journaling and how I would like to do better at it, but more simply. This past year I have been inspired by my friend Carrie who posted on Facebook a picture each day-it was so fun to see everything she has been doing so  I've made a goal to post a picture a day too, briefly journaling the day's events. So here we go:

Nate's family has been through the ringer when it comes to physical health lately! Today everyone was feeling well enough to finally get together for Christmas. We combined it with our traditional fondue dinner on New Year's day. We enjoyed good food, a relaxing day with family (in person and on Google chat), and finally some better health.
